Week Three: Drama.

Commute has been easier this week with only a 9-5 day and armed with a season ticket.

Last week I blogged about concerns with regards inter-office competition and general impressions, there was one thing I overlooked – workplace flirtation.

Everyone is beginning to get to know each other better, the new team are clicking, gotten past the “getting to know you stuff” and moving onto the digging deeper stuff. We are now prepared to answer back to the office tease (who threatens to remove people from his Christmas card list on a daily basis), become Facebook friends and have more of a laugh as a team.

All of these are good things, the thing is one of my fellow colleagues engages in the sort of flirtation that I thought only occurred in high school. He knows I have a bf and that I am not interested, so the flirting is not as extreme now as the beginning of the week. But given that we work together his efforts to make me laugh/kill me/annoy me is distracting, not that I don’t mind a good laugh, but it’s disturbing the office and we’ve been getting complaints. Sort of guy who is funny with everyone though, hoping he gets bored and moves on to his next “babe” soon.

  1. Efforts to kill you? - He sounds like a very odd person... hope he does indeed move on to his next victim!

  2. You're a relative newbie, TT, and therefore absolutely bound to be the object of office flirtation; I'm quite sure it will all settle down soon!

  3. AW - not literally kill (thankfully).

Minxy - indeed. may it soon pass, it is getting me noticed in work - but not for the right reasons.
